To check in a regular and systematic way whether or not the school is on course to become good within an 18 month time frame by evaluating the  impact of actions taken by leaders to improve aspects of provision and thereby pupil outcomes.

The working party will meet on a half-termly basis throughout the school year 2016/17. The meeting schedule will be arranged so that it fits around school data collection points. This will enable school leaders to provide a regular, up-to-date picture of pupils' progress and attainment across all year groups, as well as a progress report of key actions taken and their impact.

All governors will receive the minutes of these meetings and action points will be discussed at all GB and committee meetings.

Governors

Welcome to the section of the website where you can find out more about the school's governors, and the work that we do. Our main role is to support the Head teacher and the staff - the phrase often used to describe this role is 'a critical friend'. We help them to set and reach targets and to strive for excellence across the whole spectrum of school life.

The two key documents used for this are the Developing Excellence Plan (DEP) and the Self Evaluation Form (SEF). The SDP sets out the priorities and strategic plan for the school, with targets that everyone works towards and the SEF sets out how well the school is doing and where we aim to make improvements.

Our legal duties include:

The Governing Body meets at least once every (new) term. We also have committees or working groups to look at particular issues (such as staffing, finance, appraisal, premises).

There are several categories of governor; these are Foundation governors, the Local Authority, Parents, and Staff. All governors have equal status, however they are appointed.

We are committed to providing an excellent environment for all pupils to enjoy during their time at our school.
